ORACLE – VENDOR PROFILE – WORLDWIDE

The software giant, Oracle, has undergone a major transformation and is now presenting its new face to the world: a company that can help its customers tackle today’s challenges through modern means such as design thinking based consulting services, autonomous computing, Cloud-based digital solutions, artificial intelligence, etc. The truth is, Oracle has gathered and developed most of the bits and pieces companies may need, becoming a one-stop shop for CIOs. However, the transition from the dated Oracle to the Oracle of the new cloud, AI, and digital era is far less advanced than the megavendor would like its customers and prospects to believe. For example, despite impressive growth for the Oracle cloud business (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) in 2016 and 2017 (+36% and +66%, respectively), it is still a small part of Oracle overall business. It represented 5% in 2015, 8% in 2016, and 13% in 2017.
